Klaviyo

Decile has two Klaviyo integrations in our Integrations hub - one to sync audiences from Decile to Klaviyo, and one to sync data from Klaviyo into Decile. Read more to learn how to set up both of these integrations.


Activation Integration

This integration allows you to sync an audience from Decile into Klaviyo.

Connecting your Klaviyo Account

  1. In Decile, navigate to the gear at the top of the page and select Integrations
  2. Under Klaviyo click “Getting Started”
  3. Click “Connect Account,” and you will be redirected to Klaviyo to complete the authentication process.

    NOTE: While we work through our submission to Klaviyo's Integration Directory, you may see a message “App has not been reviewed” in the OAuth flow. You can safely click “Continue” at the prompt.

Once authorized, you will be directed back to your Decile account. You can confirm that the account was successfully connected on the Integrations by navigating back to the gear and selecting integrations.

Onboarding to Klaviyo

After the integration is connected, you can create a segment in Klaviyo using Decile audiences, which will appear as profile properties when onboarded to Klaviyo.

  1. In Decile, navigate to the Audience Syncs page from the main nav under AUDIENCES → Syncs.
  2. Click the "New Sync" button top right from the Syncs page.
  3. From the dropdown in the Audience section, select the audience you want to sync to Klaviyo as a profile property.
  4. From the dropdown in the Destination section, select Klaviyo for the destination. Optionally, you can change the Klaviyo account you would like to use as the destination, or update the name specified for the Klaviyo profile property being synced.
  5. Click "New Sync" to create and initiate the sync. Onboarding takes approximately 24-48 hours.

Segmentation in Klaviyo

  1. In your Klaviyo account, navigate to Audience > List & segments > Create New > Create Segment.
  2. On the Create Segment screen, choose “Properties about someone” in the “Definition” dropdown.
  3. Choose a Decile profile property under “Custom Properties” in the “Dimension” dropdown. The profile property created will have the name Is in Decile Audience   followed by the name specified on the Audience Onboarding page.
  4. Once selected, choose is true   to segment to members of the audience.

Note: Future Decile audience syncs will update Klaviyo profiles to reflect the current membership of the customer within the Decile audience. Customers that fall out of the audience will have the Is in Decile Audience  flag set to false  .

Data Integration

Decile's integration with Klaviyo allows you to pull the following data from Klaviyo into Decile:

  • profiles
  • events
  • lists
  • list membership

Connecting Your Klaviyo Account

First, create a read-only Private API Key within your Klaviyo account following the steps in Klaviyo's How to create a private API key article.

  1. Name the API Key Decile
  2. For access level, select Read-Only key.
  3. Copy the resulting key somewhere secure for the next step.
  4. In Decile, navigate to the gear at the top of the page and select Integrations.
  5. Find the inbound Klaviyo integration reading "Capture Klaviyo profiles, lists, and events to enrich your ecommerce data model.", and click Connect.
  6. Paste in the API key from step 3.

That's it! Data will begin flowing within 24-48 hours after connection. Larger merchants may take several days to load in the full set of customer profiles.
