Getting Started

Connect your Attentive account via Decile’s integration hub.

Connecting your Attentive Account

  1. Log in to your Attentive account. If you have more than one Attentive account, use the account dropdown on the right-hand side of Attentive’s UI to ensure you are on the Attentive account you would like to connect.
  2. In Decile, navigate to the gear at the top of the page and select Integrations
  3. Under Attentive, Click “Get Started.”
  4. Click “Connect Account,” and you will be redirected to Attentive’s install page.
  5. From here, select “Authorize” to complete the connection.

Once authorized, you will be directed back to your Decile account. You can confirm that the account was successfully by navigating back to the Integrations page.

Onboarding to Attentive

After the integration is connected, you can create a dynamic segment in Attentive using Decile audiences, which will appear as custom attributes when onboarded to Attentive. To onboard an audience to Attentive follow the steps below: 

  1. In Decile, navigate to the Audience Onboarding page under Marketing Activation → Audience Onboarding.
  2. Select the Decile Source Audience you want to send to Attentive as a custom attribute.
  3. Select Attentive under Select a Platform, optionally change the Attentive account you would like to use as the onboard destination or edit the name to be sent to Attentive, then click Onboard.

Onboarding takes approximately 24-48 hours. 

Are non-subscribers removed from the list?

Decile attempts to send all users in a Decile Audience to Attentive. An Attentive custom attribute is then only created for the users that are Attentive Subscribers (opted into marketing).  

Decile audiences update weekly and refresh the subscribers that fall in and out of the audience(s) being sent to Attentive.

Segmentation in Attentive 

  1. In your Attentive account, navigate to Segments > + Create segment > Dynamic segment. Click “Create” next to Dynamic segment.
  2. On the Create a segment screen, choose “A subscriber’s characteristics.”
  3. Choose a Decile custom attribute from the “Choose characteristic” dropdown. The custom attribute created will have the name Is in Decile Audience followed by the name specified on the Audience Onboarding page.
  4. Once selected, input true or false in the “Enter a value” field. The true/false values are case-sensitive and must be lowercase.
